Hadia

Hadia, a short animation film written and directed by Sinem Sakaoglu, tells the story of a six-year-old Syrian superhero Tareq who tries to prepare a birthday gift for his mother with the help of his new friend. While Tareq tells his story and establishes a new friendship along the way, we become familiar with the prominent historical structures and regions in Aleppo.

Hadia has been screened in various well-known national and international film festivals. The film has been granted the Liv Ullmann Peace Prize and the 2nd Place Award in the Best Animation category at the Chicago Children’s Film Festival where it had its premiere. Hadia is available both in Arabic and in Turkish audio with Arabic, Turkish, and English subtitles.
